Speakers

Booking your Speaker
• Please contact the diocesan Speakers' Co-ordinator if you would like help choosing your Speaker. This ensures that all our Speakers are used in the best possible way.
• Choose your Speaker from the list overleaf. Many Speakers are flexible and will willingly discuss with you a
subject of your choosing.
• Please take special notice of the availability of the Speaker you are requesting (next to the Speaker's name in the list).
• Contact your Speaker by telephone or email initially,
requesting the date, time and subject chosen.
• Having confirmed your Speaker's availability, photocopy the Speaker's Booking Form (copy at back of
Handbook) to clarify ALL the details.
• Send the Booking Form to the Speaker within a few days of receiving confirmation.
• Enclose a stamped addressed envelope for the Speaker's reply.
• Send a written (or email) reminder two weeks prior to the meeting date, giving precise directions to the venue and explaining car parking facilities. An accurate map is also helpful, as is a postcode for those using satnav.
• Provide a telephone number (probably a mobile phone) to ring in case of emergency, including immediately before then meeting (in case your Speaker encounters problems on the journey).
• If the Speaker is coming by public transport, please arrange for a member to meet her at the station or bus stop.
• Arrange for a member to welcome the Speaker at the door.

• And finally ... a short "Thank you" note sent after the meeting to your Speaker is much appreciated
