Weekly Update 4 October

Get Knitting!
Trish Brown (Ashtead branch) now has a contact working with refugees in Greece and would love to have knitted items for babies - jackets, hats or bootees. Please get out your needles and get knitting. Donations can be brought to the Members' Meeting on 19 November.

What on earth is a retreat?
A few MU members regularly attend the spring and autumn retreats but most do not and many probably have no idea what happens on a retreat.
To give members a chance to find out more, there will be a special meeting at the House of Prayer in East Molesey on Thursday 28 November. This will run from 12.00 to 4.00 pm with participants bringing a packed lunch. There will be input from people who have been on a retreat, a tour of the building and then a chance to spend some time in prayer, led by members who are confident in leading such sessions, and a short session of silent prayer to give an idea of what a silent retreat involves. To find out more or to book your place, please email the office.

Donations to bring to the Members' Meeting on 19 November
We shall as usual be collecting for the refuges, the card-making projects at Send and Coldingley prisons, the Woking Night Shelter and for hospital toiletries bags. A full list of what is needed will go out to branches next week. Please email the office if you would like to have a copy of this list.
